A few days ago I upgraded from 10.1 to 11.0 RC1 amd64 via sysupdate(8). All worked well.

I find 11.0 RC1 just as stable as 10.1 with one noticeable improvement.

On 10.1, once in a while when streaming Audio, the stream would slowdown and get garbled for a few seconds.

On RC1, I have been streaming Audio via mplayer since I upgraded for hours on end, no issues so far.

From my experience on 11.0 RC1, I would suggest people should upgrade to it so NetBSD 11.0 will be a awesome release.

Great work NetBSD Team!

What about the RUMP-kernel project?
Couldn´t that encompass the requirements you addressed?
I can´t see any benefits of getting more dependent of the Linux community.

I would be willing to help pursuing a better NetBSD.

Kind Regards,
Henrik.

Mercurial is still alive?!? I thought it was dead and buried by now, what with git and, to an extent, svn. Glad to see that things are (finally) moving away from CVS.

I'm now off to look for a git repo (as much as git grinds my gears it's probably one of the most efficient and functional SCCS out there.)

Great news! Hoping for GPU drivers update since it's very hard nowadays to try and use NetBSD as a daily driver.

Are there plans to sync WiFi updates with what FreeBSD developed recently? Supporting higher speeds etc.

on version 9 my old graphics Radeon HD 7700 cape verde with amdgpu drivers worked great no problems but there was no sound on hdmi, on version 10 the same graphics amdgpu drivers don't work just a red line shows up on the left side of the screen and everything freezes and crashes but the sound works perfectly fine on hdmi, version 11 I tried to install on uefi but the hardware doesn't recognize the installation at all I managed to install mbr but it can't be installed pkgin and pkgsrc for now it's obvious that version 11 is still in beta phase, I hope I'll have better luck with the graphics drivers in the next release, good luck

Since we're currently doing lots of cleanups and refactoring in Xorg - including old remains XAA in various drivers - could you please upstream your patches ?

And also let's get into closer discussions (probably @xorg-devel) on the exact relation (and workflows) of your fork vs. upstream, e.g. how to you actually create/maintain your makefiles ?

"maybe we should evaluate whether we need all of these programs too. xmh(1) is a frontend for a mail system that isn't included in base. Together, bitmap and xmh are around 300 kilobytes."

Please don't break backward compatibility.
